Fantastic Environment

For this project, we tried to recreate the mythical island of Fusang, which is said to be off the eastern coast of china.
I worked with Miranda Thomas on this one too.
The story here was that the trees of the island produce a glowing yellow sap that was used by the inhabitants as lantern lights.
The area itself was based off of stone forests in China.

Everything in these screenshots was done by me except for the water, the waterfall, the lanterns and a single stone on the veeeery left that's not really visible

A view from the top

Also I have a website now! You can find it here

Realistic Environment

With this assignment, we were tasked with creating a realistic environment inspired by an existing game.
I worked with Miranda Thomas on this one.
We decided to make a courtyard in a cathedral in the style of Assassin's Creed 2. I worked on the outside and my partner worked on the chapter house, which can only really kind of be seen in the second to last picture

Vanitas

for this assignment, I made a vanita still-life in UDK

I'm still not entirely sure if I got the oranges, but it was definitely an interesting excercise

Modular Train interior Kit

Back to school and making things
this assignment focused on making modular pieces to an environment. I decided to make a train interior

The contact sheets are a little messy since I make separate sheets for every texture map. All maps are 1024 x 1024. Perhaps one day, I'll condense these into something more readable.

Zbrush Model

and this is what Johnny ended up looking like. The toes of the boots look strange because I was working primarily in perspective mode, but to get a decent turnaround I had to get an orthographic view. The last image to the right is the only one in perspective.

The anatomy sculpt. I did not really bother with the feet because they were going to be covered by boots.

Character creation

So the assignment here was to come up with a character based on what we wanted to be when we were kids. Well I chose to make a pyromaniac. This isn't exactly what I wanted to be when I was young, but it's more interesting than an architect or an artist.

He stole someone's fireman pants and his weapon of choice is a supersoaker filled with gasoline.
Oh yeah, and he's missing most of the fingers on his right hand.
